Marion Johanna Griffith Jacobson, 83, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray following a stroke.
She was born June 16, 1925 in Ogden, a daughter of Leo and Johanna Hines Griffith.
On May 4, 1943, Marion married Earl Dines Jacobson in Diamondville, Wyoming. Earl preceded her in death on April 4, 1986.
She lived in Ogden and Roy most of her life.
Marion was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as an Ogden Temple worker and in the Name Extraction program.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Women’s Club. Marion enjoyed traveling, camping, collecting seashells, making seashell pictures, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved them dearly.
Surviving are one son and five daughters, Arthur Earl Jacobson, Bozeman, MT; Mary Lou (Stanton) Le Sieur, Hillsboro, OR; Lynda (Don) Johnson, Post Falls, ID; Penny Lister, Dallas, TX; Debra (David) Hamson, Taylorsville, UT: Kathy Vance, Roy, UT; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Delsa Fowers, Ogden, UT; and Jannette Peterson, Sacramento, CA.
Preceding Marion in death were her husband, parents, three brothers and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
