William Lloyd Greenhalgh, 90, passed away August 13, 2008 in Payson, Utah. Bill was born June 1, 1918 in Kanab, Utah to George and Nellie Brinkerhoff Greenhalgh. He attended school in Junction in Piute County, and furthered his education in the Army.
He married Leah Fullmer, February 18, 1941 in Fairfield, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple in January, 1983. She preceded him in death January 19, 2002.
Bill worked for U.S. Steel as a boiler inspector, and was the only boiler inspector in the entire company for many years. In 1934 Bill enlisted in the Army and was a shipfitter during World War II. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings such as: temple work, secretary in the high priests, young mens, and he loved scouting. He also was an extraction worker who mastered the computer even in his old age.
Bill is survived by: a son, William Terry (Sue) Greenhalgh; 2 daughters, Sharon Sperry; Debbie (Ellis) Garlick; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo Allen Greenhalgh; brothers-in-law Maynard (Rona)Fullmer; Vaughn Judd; Jack Jones and a sister-in-law, Edna Harvey. Bill was preceded in death by: is parents; 10 siblings, Ferrell, Harold, DeVerl, Mary, Elmer, Clive, Wesley, Armitta, Ora Nel, Bessie and a son-in-law, Brent Sperry.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 16, 2008,11 a.m., in the Payson 5th Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East, Payson. Friends may call on the family Friday,from 6-8 p.m., at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson and at the church on Satureday, from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery with military rites accoreded by the American Legion, Dist. #4.
